Plot the symmetric and asymmetric TM modes in a planar waveguide.

Parameters:

  • V – the V-parameter for the waveguide

  • n1 – index of refraction inside the waveguide

  • n2 – index of refraction of the cladding

Returns:

a matplotlib.pyplot object
